Dress Code Policies
All Classes
Hair should be pulled away from face and off the neck for all dance classes. All dance shoes should not be worn outside the studio space. It is extremely important to only wear tap shoes on the dance floor. Concrete or other hard surfaces will scratch the metal tap, which in turn will scratch the studio dance floors.
Ballet/Tap Combo
Any-style black leotard. Skirts and tutus are allowed if above the knee. Ballet and Tap shoes are required. Boys wear black fitted tshirts with black biker shorts and black ballet shoes.
Ballet/Jazz Combo
Any-style black leotard. Skirts and tutus are allowed if above the knee. Ballet and Jazz shoes are required. Boys wear black fitted tshirts with black biker shorts and black ballet shoes.
Tap
Comfortable dance attire.No pants that drag on the floor, and NO jeans. Feet must be visible. Tap shoes are required.
Ballet
Girls and women wear any-style black leotard, skin-toned tights, and pick leather or canvas ballet shoes. Optional items include skin-toned ballet shoes and ballet skirts. NO pants. NO hoodies or sweatshirts. NO jewelry.
Lyrical and Contemporary
Any-style black leotard paired with black leggings or black booty shorts. No clothing may be worn to obstruct the view of the body. NO baggy shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts. Half-lyrical shoes are required for both lyrical and contemporary classes. **Advanced Lyrical and Contemporary classes are encouraged to go barefoot.
Jazz and Musical Theater
Any-style black leotard paired with black leggings or black booty shorts. No clothing may be worn to obstruct the view of the body. NO baggy shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts. Jazz shoes are required. Advanced level students are encouraged to go barefoot.
Hip Hop
Comfortable clothing.NO jeans. NO skirts or dresses. Sneakers ONLY. Baggy clothing acceptable. Pants preferred.
Class Etiquette
Tardiness
Dancers must arrive to class on time. If a student is later than 20 minutes, the dancer will sit and observe class. The first 15 minutes are crucial warm up and stretch time. Stretch exercises prevent injuries.
Respect
All students should have and show respect to Sassy Feet staff, teachers, classmates, and parents. They should listen while the teacher corrects another student as the suggestion
Attendance
Consistent attendance is crucial for real progress. If you want to become a successful dancer you will need discipline.. Dancers must use good time management skills to ensure they do not miss class.
